Dawkter Who?

Dawkter started in electronic music early, with a radio, listening to local independent radio station CJSW 90.9 FM, whose deejays offered house, techno, drum & bass, and hardcore on Friday nights. He became a voracious collector of music, enjoyed the rave scene and was eager to start contributing, beginning in the early 90s. At 16, Dawkter started making mix tapes for parties. That quickly grew into deejaying bigger events in and around Calgary AB and Canada.

Positivity in electronic music is a theme throughout Dawkter’s work and he is eager to spread the message, playing for fans around the world. In his music and his message he gives thanks for the deejays and music lovers who have guided him to be the musician he has become. In his words “I got a lot of my culture from music I heard from various artist from around the globe and from local deejays in my home town.”.

Influenced by the likes of Plasticman, Daft Punk, Skream, Carl Cox, and current vibes from Caspa, ASAP Rocky, XI, Alix Perez and Chase & Status in his headphones Dawkter will deliver Discotech house, heavy vibe footwork, and beautiful harmonics. He hopes to “challenge the listener to think about themselves and what’s going on in their world at the same time […] to dance and have a good time as well.”

Dawkter is currently in the studio and is always growing. He is currently playing around with different genres, preparing for the world stage, stay tuned for upcoming recordings in 2020.
